Background

The idea to serve children in urban slums of Delhi coined almost 16 years ago when some like-minded people came together with a vision to provide primary school education. The main thrust was given by Ms Jasbir Kaur, who was passionate toward child development. She changed her vision into an action and Matri Sudha was founded on 28th February, 2001, under Societies Registration Act, 1860. Matri Sudha is registered as Matri Sudha- A Charitable Trust with Registration No. S 38855.

Presently Matri sudha works with young children, adolescents their caregivers and other community members. It works on maternal and newborn health, early childhood care, reproductive health to create sustainable communities.

Matri Sudha

The history of Matri Sudha is rooted in a vision to address pressing social issues and improve the well-being of communities, particularly focusing on nutrition, education, and child welfare. Founded in 5 Years , our organization emerged from a deep concern for the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, especially mothers and children, in accessing essential resources and opportunities for growth.

Our journey began with a small group of passionate individuals who recognized the need for integrated approaches to tackle complex societal problems. Drawing inspiration from the Sanskrit words "Matri," meaning mother, and "Shuda," representing welfare, our name symbolizes our commitment to nurturing and supporting communities towards a better future.
